Courage and Integrity
A whistleblower who made a series of allegations against Greater Manchester Police has
been given leave to appeal against an employment tribunal which dismissed his claims of
corruption among senior ranks.
It means retired senior detective Pete Jackson, who alleged GMP was blighted by a
'rotten culture of cronyism' among senior ranks, will have another chance to prove his case. The 61-year-old former head of GMP's major incident team made a series of allegations ofcorruption while he was still working at the force. Now retired, he remains a vocal critic. Last year an employment tribunal judgement concluded he had 'gone too far' in his disclosures, even though some of his claims 'clearly happened'.
